Artsreach runs a variety of innovative participatory projects across the County, working with a diverse range of communities and across art forms.

Daytime Do's (2005 - 2006)

Daytime Do's was a pilot project to provide daytime shows for the elderly. We had found that many elderly residents in rural Dorset were not wanting to go out after dark, therefore were missing out on Artsreach shows, which are almost always held in evenings.

Daytime Do's were taken to village halls on the Artsreach circuit, where there were already promoters to help promote shows. These do's were very well received, reducing social isolation among elderly or disabled residents.

We are hoping to get Daytime Do's up and running again, as we feel strongly about this highly beneficial model. We are currently applying for funding to make it happen... watch this space!
